Speaking Hebrew Names -  II

That Hebrew was still spoken in the first century CE is evident from the community scrolls unearthed in the caves of Qumran.2) It was clearly a living language. Most of the Qumran texts are written in Hebrew with only one in six in Aramaic.

Yeshuwa’s teachings of the Twenty-Four Thrones (the “Kingdom of the Heavens”) described by Yohannan in Revelation 4:4 are entirely Hebrew based. That Yohannan was fluent in Hebrew is indicated by his ability to understand the words of the angel and the singing of the Keruwbiym. The sign on the cross was written first in Hebrew, then Latin and Greek (John 19:19-20). Neither Latin nor Greek are spoken in Glory.

So while He spoke Aramaic, Yeshuwa had little use for Greek, knowing how it had changed so many Hebrew names into very different ones. In the transition from Hebrew to Greek His identity and teachings morphed into those attributed to Jesus Christ and were lost.

Hebrew’s Yeshuwa has a different spelling to the name translated as Joshua, which is Yehoshua. The Greek Septuagint calls them both Ίησοΰς. That is also the spelling in 1 Chronicles 24:11. Furthermore the angel Gabriy’el did not say that His mother should call Him Ίησοΰς (Jesus), since Luke 1:31 is written in Greek and he spoke Hebrew to her.

The Root Of The Problem

Due to the shortcomings of its phonetic alphabet the authors of the Greek Septuagint changed many of the original Hebrew names beyond recognition. Yet observe how this text has set the standard ever since.

It had no right nor authority to do this. It changed Yechezqel into Έζεκίας, Eliyahuw into Ήλίας, Yisheyahuw into Ήσαϊας, Mitsrayim into Αίγυπτος, Yahuw’ah of Eluhiym into Κύριος ό Θεός (the Lord God). Chav-vah became Εύα and Miryam Μαρία. The LXX was the first to establish institutional monotheism with its HO THEOS umbrella.

Things can go wrong when a name is changed. An individual may lose his or her historical identity because imagination now has to take over. Dates of birth and death become obscure or are invented. Generally these are hallmarks to a person’s life.

For example, Christians celebrate the birth of their Jesus on Saturnalia, the same day as the sun’s so-called birthday. The correct date for that is September 6. He was born on the seventh. Horus was also born on December 25. Other events were dated according to the ancient mystery religions too. Confusion therefore abounds as everything about His life goes awry.

Observe what happened after the high priest Shimon, father of Onias, silenced the Name in 208 BCE. Thirty two years later Antiochus Epiphanes IV invaded Yehuwdah (Judea) and tried to destroy the faith of the fathers. This was followed in 63 BCE by Roman occupation and the destruction of Yeruwshalem and her temple in the war of 66-70 CE. Was El Elyown behind these events because of what the fathers had done to Him in the Scriptures?

Most certainly! Theirs were indeed stupid and foolish decisions. In the process many different religious sects arose, each vying to uphold monotheism. One faith then self-divided into Sadducees, Zadokites (community of the scrolls), Pharisees and Essenes, along with others.

When Yeshuwa came along and established the Narrow Way which spoke the name Yahuw’ah, the ex-Pharisee Sha’uwl of Tarsus, alias the apostle Paul, refused to say it and created yet another sect called Christianity. This was on the way out when Marcion, the Gnostic bishop of Sinopé, decided to revive his epistles and a gospel similar to Luke’s.3)

The Greek and Latin bishops then endorsed them and added their own to form the New Testament canon without wondering why one who practised γνώσις was interested in such an apostle in the first place.

*RA stands for Re’eh Adonay or “friend of the Lord” (John 15:14-16). It is the best qualification.

No longer is there any need for imaginative art to depict Elohiym and many of the heroes in the Pentateuch, Gospels, Acts and Revelation, when their photographic studies provide clear images.
